Joe Funnell

Joe joined Watsons in 2015 as a trainee and was appointed Director in 2023. His experience enables him to advise owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and UK audit clients, providing commercial guidance and ensuring compliance with accounting, tax, and audit requirements. His core areas of expertise include audit, accounts preparation, and taxation, alongside providing clear, practical, and personable commercial advice to business owners.

Since being appointed as a Director in April 2023, Joe has continued to develop his client base and practical skillset within the SME market whilst continuing to work with the larger corporate entities. He remains committed to working closely with entrepreneurial businesses, supporting them in achieving their personal and commercial goals while ensuring their audit, accounting, and tax compliance evolves alongside business growth.

Outside of the office, Joe enjoys spending time with his friends and young family. He has a broad interest in all sports and considers himself a “jack of all, master of none”, with a particular enjoyment of cricket, football, golf, skiing, and crossfit.
